“Running Out of Time” is an emo-alternative rock confession pulled straight from the lost timeline of Siopao: Part Zero. It’s the version of Z3RØ who didn’t survive the fall—the boy stuck in the summer of 2000, sprinting toward something he couldn’t name and losing everything before he knew how to hold it. This track captures that breathless urgency: the heat of the streets, the scrape of childhood danger, and the kind of first love that brands itself into memory whether or not it stays.
I wrote this one the way the story feels—cinematic, restless, twilight-soaked. Every verse follows the boy’s own steps: rushing toward a comic that sells out anyway, crashing into a girl who later becomes the center of his small universe, surviving alleyway threats, and holding onto moments that never last long enough. It’s the ache of consequence showing up too early in life, wrapped in distortion and the bittersweet roar of a chorus that sounds bigger than the kid who’s singing.
This track doesn’t try to fix the past. It simply gives voice to the version of the boy who ran out of time.
