Inspired by Campus Culture: The First in the University Series
The Vista GL Taft App was the very first in what eventually became the University Series—a lineup of mobile apps tailored to high-rise residential developments near university hubs in Metro Manila. This one, designed for Vista Residences’ Taft location, marked the start of that journey. Looking back, I wanted the design language to echo something familiar to students: university logos and school badges. The colors, icons, and layout were all guided by that idea—nostalgic yet modern, vibrant yet clean.
Design Meets Interactivity
Developed using HTML, CSS, and jQuery, the app was initially built for both iTunes and Google Play via Apache Cordova. The core of the experience revolved around user interaction—think touch-based navigation that didn’t just look good but made exploring the building intuitive.
Key Features:
- A custom-illustrated Interactive Location Map
- Interactive Building Exterior, Floor Selection, and Unit Selection
- Clickable Interactive Floor Plans
All of this was designed to streamline the user journey for future tenants, students, and parents exploring unit options.
Mock-ups
The UI mock-ups show how the app allows seamless navigation through floor and unit selection. Each screen simulates what it’s like to browse your future residence from your phone.
