A Personalized T-Shirt Design for a Wedding Prenup
Tuys and Champee shirt design is a personalized t-shirt illustration I created in 2013 for my cousin and his then fiancée, made especially for their wedding prenup shoot. Their pet names—Tuys (from Tuyo) and Champee (from Champorado)—came from the classic Filipino breakfast pairing, one salty and one sweet. That contrast became the perfect visual metaphor for their relationship, and the heart of this shirt design.
At the center of the artwork are two original characters: a charming dried fish who leans playfully against a warm, smiling bowl of champorado. I sketched both characters by hand and later brought them to life in Adobe Photoshop. A swirl of heart-shaped steam connects them, tying the visual together in a subtle yet romantic way.
The Tuys and Champee shirt design may look simple at first glance, but it carries personal meaning. It shows how ordinary things—like food or pet names—can become something bigger when woven into a love story. For me, this piece was about turning affection into something you could wear and remember.
