SSS Tributes — Logos, Factions, and More

Type of work:

Collection:

In my journey with the Sad Star Soldiers project, this collection of SSS Tributes represents some of my earliest explorations into visual storytelling and world-building. Each piece highlights a different facet of the evolving Sad Star Soldiers lore, from military divisions to mythical energies, and early artworks that celebrated its spirit.

The Red Corps Emblem: A Military-Inspired Identity

The Red Corps emblem captures the disciplined strength of a formal military force within the Sad Star Soldiers universe.

Deleters and Essencia: Echoes of Power and Fragile Hopes

Deleters Faction Emblem

The Deleters faction emblem draws from the ancient myths of Atlantis and the Bermuda Triangle—places where countless things vanish into mystery.

Deleters Faction Emblem

April 22, 2009

It features a labyrinthine triangle, symbolizing the Deleters’ elusive nature.

Originally Cancellers, these individuals, led by Cain, became shadows of their former selves after discovering Essen, a potent life force buried within the crusts of dying worlds.

Their glowing, maze-like emblem reflects a journey into secrecy, with no clear way back.

Essencia: Live Like You’re Living Forever

Meanwhile, Essencia imagines a brighter possibility rooted in the same lore. In SSS lore, raw Essen was dangerously volatile; only refined sheets could safely power ancient technologies such as Canceller gates.

Essencia: Live Like You’re Living Forever

May 30, 2012

The Essencia poster and soda can mockup, featuring the slogan “live like you’re living forever,” capture a bittersweet longing—to hold onto life’s energy without being consumed by it.

Together, these concepts explore two faces of the SSS lore: survival through hidden knowledge and the dream of preserving what makes life sacred.

Early SSS Tribute Artworks: The Converse Collection

These early SSS tribute pieces transform the classic Converse sneaker into expressions of Sad Star Soldiers’ emerging world.

Each design captures a different aspect of its evolving story:

  • Canceller: A blue-toned sneaker swirling with energy, symbolizing disruption and renewal.
  • Hell Angel: A darker, chaotic design reflecting rebellion and internal conflict.
  • Nontensity: A muted, ghostly version representing absence and forgotten strength.
  • Sad Star Soldier: A bold tribute sneaker bearing the star insignia in red and yellow, echoing the spirit of the SSS movement.

Each sneaker tells a different story—snapshots of the Sad Star Soldiers universe as it took shape over time.

About Me

I’m JP B. Bantigue—a designer, storyteller, and creative who thrives in the space between imagination and form. I love building characters that live beyond the page—designing their faces, quirks, and histories while imagining the worlds they move through. Whether it’s a mythical creature, a product sketch, or a fully fleshed-out protagonist, the real joy is in giving shape to something that didn’t exist before—and letting it tell a story of its own.
