Urban Living, Streamlined Through Design
The Salcedo Square App was created for Vista Residences’ vertical development in Makati—a city known for its vibrant mix of business, art, and residential life. Designed as a mobile experience, the app made it easier for prospective buyers and renters to explore everything the building offered, from interactive floor plans to available units.
One detail that truly stood out to me was its visual direction. Instead of following generic UI patterns, I based the design language directly on the Salcedo Square logo. I worked with angular forms, geometric symmetry, and a bold, urban color palette. This gave the interface a personality that echoed the tower’s striking architecture—sharp, minimal, and modern.
App Features
I developed the app using HTML, CSS, and jQuery, then wrapped it with Cordova for deployment on both iOS and Android. Key features included:
- A custom-illustrated interactive location map
- Interactive building explorer, floor selection, and unit selection tools
- A touch-optimized navigation system for on-the-go property exploration
Altogether, these tools empowered users to make informed decisions by helping them visualize their future homes—straight from their phones.
Mock-ups & Visual Direction
For the visual design, I leaned into the brand’s geometric style and extended it across the UI mockups. I incorporated bold transitions and a deep, architectural color scheme to add a sense of elegance and verticality—perfect for a high-rise in the city’s cultural district.
While the final approved version was completed by Kat Perez, a former colleague at BUILD, my early design study laid the groundwork for the app’s execution.
