A Rustic-Themed Wedding Invitation Straight from the Heart

Rustic-themed Wedding Invitation Design

This rustic-themed wedding invitation wasn’t just a creative exercise—it was personal. I designed it for my very own wedding with my wife. From the start, we wanted something meaningful yet budget-conscious, so we took the DIY route for most of our wedding preparations. That included this invitation.

Using a peach and mint color palette, I designed the entire set with hand-drawn motifs and rustic fonts to evoke a warm and welcoming feel. The illustrations were based on assets from Freepik, which I recolored, rearranged, and customized to fit the overall theme. Every element—down to the delicate twine that held it all together—was carefully considered and lovingly assembled.

A DIY Project Rooted in Design and Love

Rustic-Themed Wedding Invitation

Hand-drawn style, peach and mint color motif, and leaves and flowers as the main theme.

Printed on 5R-sized paper and cut into four distinct pieces, the final output was strung together with twine, giving it that familiar handmade, homegrown charm. The set included:

  • A main invite card featuring our names and ceremony details
  • A sponsor and entourage list
  • A hand-illustrated location map reminiscent of my layout process for client work
  • An RSVP slip with a charming illustrated bicycle and balloons

Every piece was DIY—designed by me, assembled with my wife, and finished with the help of our family. We spent weekends folding, cutting, tying, and double-checking each invitation before sending them out.

Beyond the Invitation: Wedding Collaterals

The design work didn’t stop with the invitation. I also created:

  • A Save the Date animation video
  • Thank You tags for souvenirs
  • A photobooth print template with our monogram
  • A custom plaque of appreciation for our parents

This project reminded me that creativity thrives when it’s personal. Even under constraints—like time or budget—design can still be thoughtful, functional, and deeply meaningful.
