Bringing Lakefront to Life Through an Interactive App

The Presidio App was one of the very first interactive projects I worked on during my time at BUILD. It wasn’t just a property showcase—it was a genuine attempt to reimagine how potential buyers could explore real estate developments through digital experiences.

Developed for Lakefront in Sucat, the app featured a fully interactive site map, intuitive floor plan navigation, and unit-level previews. Beyond the core UI and frontend interactions, I also contributed to 3D asset preparation, which included layout modeling and unit renderings for both Cezanne and Monet towers.

At the time, this project became a milestone for me—not just in terms of technical growth but also creatively. It taught me how digital storytelling, design, and development could come together to build something immersive and meaningful.

Design & Development Contributions

This project was a playground for integrating skills across three key disciplines:

  • UI/UX Design: I crafted visually engaging layouts that were clean and functional. Elements such as floor plan transitions, map highlights, and unit toggles were implemented to simulate real-world browsing behavior—all within the confines of a browser.
  • Frontend Development: I developed interactions using jQuery and styled components. Our goal was to create smooth transitions and maintain consistency with Lakefront’s premium visual identity.
  • 3D Asset Creation: Additionally, I rendered assets for the Lakefront Masterplan. This included detailed 3D layouts for both the Cezanne and Monet buildings. From studio units to 2-bedroom configurations, each floor plan was optimized for clarity and ease of comparison.

    Featured 3D Assets

    Lakefront Masterplan Overview

A bird’s-eye view of the full Lakefront development, highlighting residential clusters, key access points, and roadways.

    Monet and Cezanne Building Layouts

To bring the building interiors to life, I visualized each floor level in 3D. These layouts were modeled with real scale and furniture placements to reflect how the spaces would actually feel. This helped buyers intuitively understand each unit’s configuration.

    Monet Unit Layouts

I worked on rendering layouts for Monet’s unit types: 1-Bedroom, 2-Bedroom, and 3-Bedroom. The furnishings were based on the actual model units, which made the renders feel more grounded and real.

    Cezanne Unit Layouts

In parallel, I created 3D renders that included variants for 2-Bedroom, Studio, and a special hybrid layout for Studio units. These renders were particularly helpful for making side-by-side comparisons.

    Why This Project Still Matters

Looking back, working on the Presidio App marked a personal turning point. While I had prior experience in UI design and frontend work, this was one of the first times I was able to combine everything—design, dev, and 3D—in one cohesive product.

More importantly, this was my first real dive into environmental modeling. I had to translate a physical masterplan into a functional, accessible interface that people could navigate easily. Rather than just showcasing spaces, the app invited users to imagine themselves living there.

Even today, it reminds me of the power of thoughtful, human-centered design—especially when paired with digital interactivity.

Even years later, it’s a reminder of what good design can do when it’s thoughtful, interactive, and human-centered.
