Ling (derived from the Chinese word for zero) is a Hi Nin (or fire ninja) and heiress to the divine treasure of the Hi clan. She was the childhood friend of Ulan. Growing up, they both trained under the same masters, but was later on forbidden to see each other because of a dispute between the Hi and Kaze clans. It was revealed later that Ling had been brainwashed and manipulated by the enemy to fight the heir to Kaze clan, Ulan.

This character is probably one of my earliest character designs that I was able to render digitally as well. The character was inspired by a college crush, primarily the color choice and history of the name. She is a character in Ulan’s (a version of Zero from a past life) backstory.
