This pixel art fan art is my personal interpretation of Matteo Silangan, a pivotal figure in the SSS lore. The artwork started as a rough sketch, which I later refined into pixel art using Photoshop. Matteo Silangan and the Sad Star Soldiers idea belong to Jeremiah Virgo.

Matteo Silangan – A Warrior Reforged

Matteo Silangan’s story is one of survival and transformation. He endured the Bombing of Midnyt, a catastrophe that took his family and left him changed forever. This tragic event awakened his Canceller abilities, setting him on a path that would shape the fate of Inner Heart and beyond. As the only known non-Arian capable of opening three Canceller gates, Matteo became both a legend and a target.

Once the Supreme Commander of the Cancellers, Matteo’s journey took an unexpected turn. Though presumed dead, he has resurfaced as the leader of Riser Company, a faction aligned with the Unseen. His return raises unsettling questions—has he remained the protector he once was, or has he chosen a different path?

Matteo’s Power and Presence

• Three Canceller Gates – A rare ability that grants him immense strength but also ties him to the influence of the Unseen.
• Bearer of the Gate of Time – A forbidden power, last wielded by Cain, allowing him to manipulate time at great personal cost. (Some records of this ability were lost with the fall of the Deleters, leaving only fragmented accounts.)
• The Deleter’s Influence – Matteo’s legacy is intertwined with the Deleters, a faction born from war and betrayal. (However, much of this history remains uncertain due to missing Deleter records.)

Matteo Silangan remains an enigma within the SSS universe. His survival, his choices, and his allegiance continue to shape the battles ahead. Whether he still fights for justice or has become a tool of greater forces, his presence alone is enough to alter the course of history.
