Keep Distance: Life, Love & Regrets represents a conceptual album art created for a CD Album Art contest organized by Keystone045 on DeviantArt. The fictional band, Keep Distance (KD), comprises myself and friends as bandmates. This project intertwines personal faith and creative expression, resulting in a distinctive cross-layout design.
Design Inspiration and Concept
The design draws inspiration from my religious beliefs, leading to the adoption of a cross-shaped layout. This unconventional approach symbolizes the intersection of life, love, and the regrets that often accompany them. Each element within the design reflects themes explored in the album’s content, aiming to evoke introspection and emotional resonance.
Content and Imagery
The album comprises songs and poems authored by me, encapsulating experiences and reflections from 2004 to 2016. These pieces are also featured in My Book Project, a compilation of my poetry. Photos belong to their respective owners, namely Bulalakaw (formerly from DeviantArt) and Darina Belonogova (from Pexels).
Life, Love & Regrets Album by Keep Distance
Inspired by my religion/faith, I wanted to try the seemingly-unusual cross layout. The album consists of songs (or poems) written by myself.
Conclusion
Keep Distance: Life, Love & Regrets stands as a testament to the fusion of personal faith and creative exploration. The project not only challenged conventional design norms but also provided insights into the complexities of content creation and the responsibilities that come with it. Through this endeavor, I have grown as a designer and storyteller, continually striving to produce work that resonates both visually and ethically.
