A Website That Evolved With Its School
During my time at BUILD Interactive, I worked on the full redesign of the official website for Everest Academy, a private Catholic international school located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The school’s original website, which we launched back in 2013, was designed to serve as a reliable information portal for parents, students, and the wider Everest community. At the time, the layout and direction made perfect sense for the school’s needs. However, as technology and user expectations quickly evolved, that version began to feel dated—both visually and functionally.
By 2017, we proposed and implemented a full redesign—this time with a completely new CMS and both front-end and back-end rebuilt using PHP and Laravel. The revamp wasn’t just a facelift; it was a strategic overhaul that improved usability, flexibility, and maintainability across the board.
Design Goals and Contributions
I led the UI/UX direction for the redesign. My focus was on improving content structure and delivering a clean, responsive layout that aligned with the school’s visual identity. Working closely with the development team, we:
- Refined navigation for clarity and ease of use
- Designed mobile-friendly layouts for better accessibility
- Maintained a formal tone through typography and spacing
- Created a design system that was both polished and functional
The goal was to build a site that looked current, felt intuitive, and could evolve alongside Everest Academy itself.
Results That Mattered
The updated site made content management much easier for Everest’s staff thanks to the tailored CMS. On the front end, users—especially parents—could now find information faster, whether they were on desktop or mobile. The school’s values came through more clearly in the redesign, with well-organized sections for academics, admissions, news, and student life.
