The Deleter Valkyrie Wing Harpy Variant is one of three character designs from the Deleters faction, originally illustrated by Mary Ngai (maksim). I digitally inked and colored this variant to showcase the Valkyrie class—a mid-range fighter with engineered wings inspired by harpy silhouettes and high-mobility combat.
This piece is part of the Sad Star Soldiers (SSS) extended universe. The Deleters were a collaborative addition I helped develop in 2012, alongside Mary, Jeremiah Virgo, and KC Salvador. Rather than overwrite existing lore, we created a space to expand the world in new directions.
Vector Inking & Flat Coloring
For this Harpy Variant:
- I vectorized the original line art using Photoshop to achieve crisp, print-ready lines
- Created a monochrome version that mimics traditional ink renderings
- Applied flat, solid colors to define form and movement while keeping things clean and graphic
The resulting look emphasizes the agility and combat-readiness of the Valkyrie class—especially in this harpy-inspired design. It balances aggressive posture with clean lines and graphic clarity.
A Glimpse into the Deleters
Deleters are a splinter faction of the Cancellers, forged under Cain Evanouir. They were created to remove the Formless Darkness entirely—even purging what the Cancellers had previously “saved.”
Unlike Cancellers, Deleters have only one gate, and it remains sealed. They can’t perform Sacred Techniques, but they do follow the Disciplines of Ageless Wisdom, heightening all five senses to their maximum potential. This strict, almost ascetic philosophy defines their power and identity.
This Valkyrie falls under the Harpy Variant—a battle-ready unit designed for tactical movement and ranged skirmishes. Her “feathers,” powered by Essen, act as both offensive tools and defensive shields.
