Featured Games
Yakuza 3 Remastered (2021)
Developer: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio / Publisher: SEGA
The Yakuza game series, also known in Japan as Ryū ga Gotoku, literally translated as Like a Dragon, is a Japanese video game franchise that is primarily a beat ’em up game with elements of an action-adventure, open-world RPG. Yakuza 3 Remastered is the third chapter of the Kazuma Kiryu saga with restored content in 1080p and 60fps.
The Surge 2 (2019)
Developer: Deck13 / Publisher: Focus Home Interactive
The Surge 2 is a third-person action RPG set in a dystopian future where the world’s resources have already been exhausted bringing about the near extinction of humans. You play as the “Warrior”, an unnamed character searching for Athena Guttenberg, the granddaughter of CREO founder Jonah Guttenberg. The game features a character creator which allows players to fully customize their characters. The game also allows you to utilize a variety of melee weapons to defeat enemies, whose limbs can be targeted and removed individually, and use these parts as armor or tech enhancements.
I have always liked the idea of beating up your monsters and using their attributes (or parts) to enhance your own, and just by the thought of “character customization”, I think I would have already wanted to try playing this game, except I haven’t played the first one yet and I would love to play it in continuity.
Dirt 5 (2020)
Developer: Codemasters / Publisher: Codemasters, Electronic Arts
Dirt 5 is an off-road racing game, featuring multiple racing disciplines such as rallycross, ice racing, Stadium Super Trucks and off-road buggies. Aside from online and splitscreen multiplayer options, the game also features a career mode where the player is pitted against a rival driver in a series of championships.
The only DIRT/Rally game I’ve played in my entire life as far as I remember is probably the first one: Colin McRae Rally (1998) (or maybe one of its sequels) when it was released with an old Microsoft Windows PC that we got as a kid. I wasn’t really a fan of the rally type racing games, as I was more into racing games such as Need for Speed, but looking at the screenshots and videos of Dirt 5, this seems to be a particularly great-looking game and with an option to play it with three other players in splitscreen, or to play a career mode, and if you’re ever into this, I think this would really be a great experience.
Hammerting (2020)
Developer: Warpzone Studios / Publisher: Team17 Digital
Hammerting (Early Access) is a mining colony sim with RPG elements, where you manage a clan of dwarves. In the game, you will establish an epic mining operation, craft legendary weapons and delve deep for greater glory, riches and danger.
Even though I’m not a fan of management sims as they require you to be patient, which I am not obviously, with Hammerting’s RPG elements, I think I would personally give this game a chance. The graphics in the game alone looks great and the RPG elements are also a great addition.
Nimbatus – The Space Drone Constructor (2020)
Developer: Stray Fawn Studio / Publisher: Stray Fawn Studio, WhisperGames
Nimbatus – The Space Drone Constructor is a physics-based, drone building and management sandbox game where you survive by shooting your way through completely destructible planets in different biomes and competing against other autonomous drones built by other players.
I’m personally not a fan of bullet-hell shooters, well except when they have RPG elements, but looking at some gameplay and videos online, the animations and physics on this game look slick.
Paradise Killer (2020)
Developer: Kaizen Game Works / Publisher: Fellow Traveller
Paradise Killer is an open-world adventure detective game where you look around Paradise, the game’s setting, in search of evidence and clues, in order to solve several mysteries.
I personally like the art style of the game and I’ve always been a sucker for detective mysteries, so Paradise Killer for me is one of the best catches in this month’s choice.
Kill It With Fire (2020)
Developer: Casey Donnellan Games LLC / Publisher: tinyBuild
Kill It With Fire is a first-person action game about hunting spiders and causing collateral damage. The main objective of the game is to kill spiders with just about anything.
To be fair, this seems to be an enjoyable game but it would be a pretty short one. Probably many times replayable, but personally would have been better with a multiplayer option as well.
Bee Simulator (2020)
Developer: VARSAV Game Studios / Publisher: Nacon
Bee Simulator is a… well, a bee (flight) simulation game, where you play as a bee in a beautifully generated game world, brimming with life. In Bee Simulator, you can do what most bees do: collect pollen, defy dangerous wasps and save your hive. You can also play with others including co-op or PvP.
Elderborn (2020)
Developer / Publisher: Hyperstrange
ELDERBORN is a brutal, first person hack and slash game with character progression and skill-based system that allows you to play your own way. Based on user reviews, it’s Dark Souls in first person mode. I haven’t personally played Dark Souls yet, but it has a similar feel to Skyrim. I would probably play this if it has a good story to back the game up.
S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster (2019)
Developer: Kite Games / Publisher: Assemble Entertainment, WhisperGames
S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster is the new edition of the challenging classic, real-time strategy game S.W.I.N.E!
Deadly Days (2019)
Developer: Pixelsplit /Publisher: Assemble Entertainment,WhisperGames
Deadly Days is a strategy rogue-lite game set in the zombie apocalypse where you manage and protect a group of survivors and help them to stop the catastrophe. I’ve seen the game played by SplatterCatGaming on YouTube and it’s one of those games that I’ve seen on Steam that initially I haven’t got my radar on, but after watching it on his channel, I wanted to play for myself.
ADOM (Ancient Domains Of Mystery) (2015)
Developer: Thomas Biskup, Jochen Terstiege, Zeno Rogue, Krzysztof Dycha, Lucas Dieguez / Publisher:Assemble Entertainment
Ancient Domains Of Mystery (ADOM) is a roguelike RPG where you play to stop the force of Chaos that invade the world of Ancardia. The game was initially developed with ASCII graphics but was later improved with tile-based graphics.
Humble Original
CreatorCrate (2021)
Developer: Jori Ryan / Publisher: CreatorCrate Games
CreatorCrate is a fast, action platformer with roguelike elements, where you play as an appliance that devours everything, makes anything, and fights to escape a massive, circular space station.
