Witch, a fantasy-horror graphic novel written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, and illustrated by Tony Shasteen and Stephen Downer, published in 2011. This is not the same Witch titled comic that appeared in a local kid’s magazine called K-Zone. In fact, this is not “kiddie” at all.

Witch is about a teenage girl who discovers that she is a witch and the recurring voice in her head, is her familiar. Unaware and only will she discover later that she comes from a long line of witches hunted to extinction by so-called Witch Hunters. With the aid of her familiar and a mysterious young man, they embark on the journey to find other witches before the Witch Hunters find them.

The art is really good. The characters were drawn really well, especially how the “familiars” look. It gives a different mental image of how “familiars” looked like.

Story

The plot is somewhat cliche to these types of “teenager discovers hidden past” stories but it has its twists.

Overall

The story overall is kind of generic, but I would still like to find out what happens next.
