The Paper Man by Milo Manara is about a traveling cowboy in search for his “love” by means of a picture. Along his journey, he meets several different characters including an English man, a captive Indian girl, a schizophrenic who has certain “skills”, and a contrary Indian– an Indian who does everything in contrary.

Although it has an unhappy ending, the overall story turned out good. There was a lack of character development in the story, however, since most of the characters just appeared out of nowhere, having little to no explanation on where they came from.
